Self-Confidence Grows Here

TRACKED PROGRESS

We are fully dedicated to our students and expect the same from them.  Each year we have students set goals and work with them to meet or exceed them and have fun along the way.

Performance opportunities

We pride ourselves on giving the gift of confidence to all our students!  Our students have multiple opportunities for them to perform via online or in-person concerts several times a year.  This way, the students bond with each other and offer support and encouragement.

Mimic Music offers adaptive lessons for those with special needs.

No two musicians learn exactly the same way.

You do not need perfect pitch, years of experience, or some mysterious “music gene” to learn an instrument. You just need a place to start. We make music approachable by breaking things down into manageable steps, celebrating progress, and giving students plenty of opportunities to actually play music they enjoy.

Dedication to Music since 2012

Hi!  I'm Brian. At a young age my grandfather introduced me to music.  He encouraged me to explore the ukulele, piano and guitar.  While working towards my music therapy degree at Maryville University, I became more interested in singing and songwriting.  It's funny how working as a barista, activities specialist and volunteering can really get those creative juices going.  As a teacher who had to practice incredibly hard to get where we are today, we know the importance a good Music Teacher can have on their students.

In 2007, I co-founded the gothic Americana rock band Strawfoot.  My songwriting, vocals, and contributions on the 5-string banjo have been called "relentless, growling, flint-eyes highlight" by the Riverfront Times.

Finally, in 2012 I founded Mimic Music to provide the best music education, entertainment, and therapy available in St. Louis, MO, and beyond!
